Reconnection Economy
The Reconnection Economy: Rethinking Dominant Narratives
Dominant climate narratives often frame sustainability as an expensive luxury rather than a strategic necessity. We hosted a workshop for a global conference of impact makers designed to reconnect leaders with the economic and personal reality of restoration.
The Regenerative Logic
We facilitated a process of narrative inquiry, using personal storytelling to bridge the gap between human experience and ecological health. We moved beyond abstract data to explore how the current "sustainability is too expensive" mindset ignores the compounding costs of systemic failure. By applying a regenerative lens, we demonstrated that restoration is the least expensive long-term option for society. Participants collaborated to map how reconnecting with nature changes the way we value resources, risk, and investment.
The Shift
The workshop provided social impact leaders with a new framework for advocacy and decision-making. By challenging extractive narratives and replacing them with a reconnection economy logic, participants developed the tools to shift the conversation in their own organizations. Helping stakeholders reach a collective realization that regenerative design is not a cost to be managed, but the most viable path to enduring resilience and future flourishing.
